I started to search networks an linear images, here are a few examples, the top right is graph using ribbon and the height is representing a statical number. The other are more conceptual piece image I could relate to as a system or network. The electricity poles is on my favourite examples of a connection. The image bellow on the right, make me see electricity running through wires or the make up of an atom.
