I started to think about different ways to promote the brand, I made these illustrations to show different styles of leotards to suit your own individual personality. I was thinking about make each poster a different scene titled

Dancing in secrete

Dancing outside

Dancing in your underwear

Dance for money

Dancing to the beat

Dancing without the beat

Dancing like your dad

Dancing in the dark

Dancing in the rain

I started by think this could be a poster illustration then I thought about the video side of advertisements not just billboards/posters but a video. I then came up with the idea of having each poster a still from the Stop motion of a ballet dancer this would make the public to take a photo of each billboard around London and once they have all the image they will see a moving image of a ballet dancer. This mirrors the idea of movement and persuading the public to physical move to.

I started experimenting with a Stop motion, with just doing a short clip just to see what it would look like, I then decided to develop this further with one of the ballerina I had drawn, and this clip was to show dancing in the dark, I was planning on doing three titles - Dancing in the dark, dancing in the rain, dancing without the beat and at the end it would say wherever your dancing do it with attitude!

I created the first video and it took a long time to just make a 10 second clip, so I decided to start experimenting with other ways to show dancing in the dark. Re watching the original video there was something missing it wasn’t truly portraying what I wanted it, at best it was just a girl dancing in a leotard.

I wanted the advertisement to show self-expression through a type of leotard that suits your personality outside of ballet and gives you more confidence, and making girls at ages 16 upwards want to empower them to keep dancing! I do still like the idea of billboards being used as a why to make the public move, or seeing a moving image, however I decided to rethink how can I should self-expression more?

I had another idea floating around my head, of having three different outfits for three different personalities of girls being dressed.

  1. Traits: Educational, Clean, Uptight

Wear: She would wear a pencil skirt with a vent and glasses peplum blouse

  1. Traits: Outgoing, Joker, Uni student Ripped jeans,

Wear : High waisted ripped under bum. With a black belt and a striped crop top listening to music!

3.Traits: Lazy, Clumsy, scatty, happy

Wear: baggy jumper dress with rucksack.

Each of these girl would present there personality through there outfits, I would possibly have two posters side by side same pose however in one she’s dressed in her normal clothes and another in her ballet leotard then together they pile or do one single movement. at the moment I have just started designing the jumper dress.
